Good to Go

Well, it took more than four months to line this project up, but the last ticket confirmation from Qatar Airways came in last night. This means my around the world adventure begins on Friday, when I will be reporting on the economy class service of four of the world's 5-star airlines for Airways magazine.

Since I need to get to Los Angeles to connect with Malaysia Airlines, my first flight will actually be on Alaska Airlines, which has a 3-star rating; a category that most of the world's airlines fall in. In fact, only three U.S. airlines are rated higher.

What a fantastic story idea - I look forward to reading about your adventures on this blog. I can't even imagine what it will be like dealing with so many climate and time zones in such a short period; not to mention different food, language etc. Best of luck and bon voyage!

Enter UI improvement REQs: One for the easy wins, one for the tough ones

Have fun on your trip. Are you going to blog from the trip?

Also, can you elaborate on the star ranking system, please? Do the airlines get ranked for service, service/price, being on time, luxury, rarely sending your luggage astray, etc?

I've thrown some link-love your way from my own blog in a post tonight: Around the World in 9 Days.

Ha! Many apologies. :-)

That bit about the "UI improvements" was something I meant to paste into another window. Looks like it ended up here instead.

Sorry!
